birthday bedroom...

.... So a few posts ago I wrote that Preston let me makeover our bedroom for my birthday present. It took awhile but it's finally coming together. I still have some little things here and there to finish {i.e. vinyl on the walls in areas and frames to fill with pictures} but the grunt work is finished....

.... Now I didn't get a before picture because my "little helper" {Preston} was so fast at taking everything apart and clearing out the room to be painted. That's OK though....Just imagine Lilac walls and Brown and turquoise bedding {needless to say it didn't match}....

....Here's the after!...

....I love the bed spread, and Preston even let me get pink sheets! Although not before having a brief discussion about his fear of his man parts falling off & running away  {so dramatic}....He loves me.... If the table cloths on the night stands look brown.... it's because they are. I can't find black ones to save my life {I'm thinking about dying them}.

....These were fun to make 8x8 frames with our baby pics in them. I just need to get the one in the middle filled with a pic of Deakon. {"Vale La Pena" is a little family saying, it means "it's worth it". Preston use to tell this to me a lot when we were dating and it's stuck ever since.}

 

....I also wanted the lamps not to have plain white lamp shades. I saw and fell in love with some damask lamp shades on the internet but they were like $30.00 each, which was so not going to happen. So a little fabric and good ol' liquid stitch and whallah! Almost the same thing.... right? :]

....I'm definitely no professional but I think our bedroom turned out pretty good. It was so fun to get to put everything together. One of my favorite things to do is to turn a house into our home. Thanks babe for the fun birthday present....
